An Ode to the Diner Breakfast
Give me hollandaise.
And English muffins.
But that ain't enough man.
I want an omelette. Or maybe toasted baguette.
Two slices of bacon might be enough to partake in
A delicious breakfast on the weekend.
But ultimately I want to defend, the diner breakfast—eaten with my best friend.
What is it about a simple diner breakfast that is pure perfection on a plate? Two eggs, some kind of pork product, hashbrowns and toast. Simple. Easy. Delicious.
It can cure what ails you—hangovers included—and strengthen you for the day ahead. It can be soaked in grease and served in a dive. Or made with love and served in style.
For me, the best version of the diner breakfast is served at The Armview. I've tried my fair share of diner breakfasts, but it comes down to two key things: Quality of ingredients and the level of grease. In the case of the Armview the ingredients are high quality, and the grease level is low—the perfect combination for a winning meal.
Where's your go-to diner? I want to hear about it.
