When in doubt, put an egg on it.

Review—On location in Las Vegas: Egg Slut

Much like us here at DejeunEH, Egg Slut is "inspired by a true love of eggs". The name alone is enough to make me want to eat there, but after checking out what these guys are all about (fresh, local ingredients, high quality and tasty eats, food porn) they were #1 on my list of places to eat in Las Vegas.

Luckily for us, they happened to be located in the hotel we were staying in.

Every single time we walked by there was a huge lineup of people waiting. And for good reason—spoiler alert, their breakfast game is next level. The day we went the line was long-ish, but the wait really wasn't too bad. Plus, since we were in Vegas, the people watching provided ample entertainment.

Their menu is simple and egg-centric (durr) offering a few variations on the classic breakfast sandwich, just done with a lot of love, and a lot of care with the best ingredients possible. I opted to go for the classic Bacon, Egg, and Cheese (hardwood smoked bacon, cage-free over medium egg, cheddar cheese and chipotle ketchup in a warm brioche bun).

I'm such a sucker for nice packaging. That font tho.

On packaging and presentation alone this meal was tasty as hell. Sometimes I find stuff that looks really good doesn't taste that great. This was not one of those times.

Everything about this sandwich was pure perfection. Perfectly crisp bacon. Perfect pillowy soft brioche bun. Perfectly cooked egg. The only thing for me was the chipotle ketchup. It's not that it wasn't good, I'm just generally not a fan of ketchup on my breakfast sandwich. The second time I went I got the same thing but without the ketchup, and it was incredible.

Yeah, that's right. I ate there twice. It was that good.

The service was efficient—and fascinating to watch them do their thing in the open concept kitchen—and bonus points for bumping some sweet 90s rap as the soundtrack to this little piece of breakfast heaven.

We fully support Egg Slut's right to wear what they choose, date who they choose, and generally do whatever the hell else they want to. #NoShame
