The only thing I love more than Saturday morning breakfast is a Saturday morning breakfast I don't have to make.
When Man Friend suggested we head somewhere downtown for breakfast, I immediately thought of the Stubborn Goat. Recently—in a stroke of absolute genius—the Goat has started serving brunch every day of the week. Be still my heart. As a fan of their dinner foods, I was eager to give it a try.
The brunch menu has a good selection and I was a little torn, but ultimately I went with the Mushrooms on Toast & Eggs ($15).
It. Did. Not. Disappoint.
Two huge, thick slices of sourdough toast, piled with sauteed forest mushrooms and leeks topped with pillowy-perfect soft poached eggs and GD HOLLANDAISE FOR GOOD MEASURE. I mean... come on. This is some legit stuff.
For me, it was a lot of food. I feel like one toast & egg slab of awesomeness would have been enough with a few potatoes on the side. But I'm not complaining.
Man Friend opted for the Chicken 'n' Waffles Tacos ($14) which he was also impressed with.
Would I go back?
I'm already putting on my coat.
